Previous experience: 

Six years working for Natural England, the government’s advisory body on the natural environment. In depth knowledge of environmental funding and policy, including Higher Level and Countryside Stewardship. Key skills include: habitat management and restoration, designated sites (SSSI) surveying and monitoring, Wildlife and Countryside Act and enforcement of Weeds Act. I'm a Prince2 practitioner and first aider.

Job title: Surveyor

Company experience: Surveying for Invasive species including Japanese knotweed, Himalayan balsam and Giant hogweed. Working with clients to tailor site specific remediation packages. 

Delivering CPD presentations to a range of business and Local Authorities, focusing on Japanese knotweed and invasive species identification and treatment.

Favourite part of your job: Visiting parts of the country I haven’t seen before and meeting new people.

Least favourite part of your job: Visits in the rain, I’m sure the clouds have been following me recently!

Interests away from work: I like to go running and getting outdoors, I love walking and camping weekends, cooking for friends and socializing.

Last year, I completed a marathon with and old school friend and this year I will be cycling from Brussels to Brighton to raise money for charity.

If I could be anywhere right now I'd be: A sandy beach, growing up by the sea means I now miss the beach living in Manchester.
